Shake Your BonBon

After nursery the other week, Jif said goodbye to his friends and teachers by saying
"Bye all you church, see you next week!"

The other day after Reese woke up I told Jif
"Reese says that she wants to get dressed so she can play outside"
Jif replied, "No, Reese says she wants to shake her bon bon"

I guess that I must explain that he is obsessed with the "Shake Your Bon Bon" song by Ricky Martin, even though he has only heard it once.  He has since taught it to all of his friends at joy school.

I’m too big

Tonight Jif was funny, this is how the night went:
Dad: “Ok, it’s time for scripture study”
Jif: “I’m too big for scriptures”
Dad: “now it’s time for a prayer.”
Jif: I’m too big for a prayer”.
Mom: “It’s time to take your medicine”
Jif: “No thank you. I don’t’ want medicine anymore”
Mom: “Let’s read a story on the couch”
Jif “I don’t want to go to sleep on the couch!  I want to sleep with Reese!”
Mom: “You can sleep in your room with Reese, but let’s read a book on the couch first”.
Jif “I just want to pop in bed"

That Sounds Weird

Lately I have been giving Jif and Reese a small dessert if they do a good job eating dinner. I had only done it for about 2 days. But one night Jif did a great job eating dinner and Reese didn't do that great of a job. I was only going to give Jif dessert and I said to Reese. "Look Jif ate most of his dinner isn't that so good?" Reese smiled, clapped for Jif and then turned around and pointed to a platter of Rice Krispy Treats on the counter and said "Yay!" I couldn't believe how smart that was, so I ended up giving her one too. Lately Jif's vocabulary has exploded. One thing that he likes to do is point out whenever he thinks I am doing something weird. He tells me "That sounds weird mama" or "you look weird". As you can imagine it makes me feel really good when he says things like that to me. Oh well, at least he's not calling me fat yet.
